I am Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and a VIP Diamond+ Provider for Invisalign and Invisalign Teen, with more than 4300 in treatment and completed Invisalign cases, as of 2023. I’ve been recognized by Invisalign with an Outstanding Leadership Award. My peers have also recognized Stormberg Orthodontics and Dr. Stormberg as one of the Top Orthodontist in San Diego County.

Meet Dr. Kurt Stormberg
Board Certified Orthodontist
I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where I was one of ten children. My dad was a children’s dentist and my older brother is a general dentist in Omaha. Of course, I am a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan and find any opportunity to root them on! My hobbies include running, lifting weights, soccer, and most of all spending time with my wonderful family.
I always wanted to serve my country, so after graduating from Creighton University School of Dentistry. I joined the United States Navy as a dental officer. Serving in the Navy was a great experience, especially my two years at sea on board the USS Germantown (LSD-42).
While I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for my final tour, I knew San Diego was the place I wanted to call home. So, I returned to the University of Nebraska and completed my orthodontic training in 1998. With my wife and baby daughter in tow, I was able to buy a great practice in La Mesa from Dr. Dennis McKee.
My other passion is organized dentistry where I have served in many leadership positions including past President of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, past President of the San Diego County Dental Society and the Board of Director for a variety of orthodontic and dental organizations. I have always felt it is very important to give back to my profession which has given me such a wonderful career.
I chose to specialize in orthodontics because I enjoy the challenges orthodontic treatment presents, and I feel that by bringing smiles to my patients, I can influence their lives in a positive way. I enjoy talking with my patients and their families, learning what is happening in their lives. At Stormberg Orthodontics we have three generations of families in treatment and a number of patients who turned employees, which has continued to enrich my life.

Meet Dr. James Spencer Bisbas
Associate Orthodontist
I was born and raised in sunny San Diego. My two sisters and I went to high school in La Jolla and I decided to stay in San Diego for college. I attended the University of California, San Diego for my undergraduate degree in Biology. After that I attended both the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California for my dental and orthodontic training. I also received my masters degree in Craniofacial Biology at USC.
When I am out of the office I enjoy catching early morning surf sessions, playing golf, or cheering on the USC Trojans up at the LA Coliseum! Fight on!
My favorite aspect of providing orthodontic treatment is meeting new people and developing meaningful relationships. I strive to create a comfortable and positive atmosphere where I can get to know my patients and their stories. I am truly excited about serving this community and providing the best possible orthodontic care tailored to each individual and their specific needs.
